The Prophet Muhammed ﷺ told us that the Ummah of Muslims will divide into 73 sects, and one will go to Jannah (Heaven) while the others will go to Jahannam (Hell). The one that will go to Jannah are those who follow the Prophet ﷺ and the Sahabah. Important note is that the 72 sects that will go to Jahannam are still Muslims, and will go to Jannah eventually if they didn’t come with something that negated their Islam.

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “What comes over my nation will surely be what came over the children of Israel, step by step until if one of them fornicated with his mother, one from my nation would do the same. Verily, the children of Israel split into seventy-two sects and my nation will split into seventy-three sects; all of them are in the Hellfire except for one denomination.” They said, “Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Those who follow my way and my companions.”
