السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ

Salafiyah is simple: Follow the Quran and Sunnah according to the interpretation of the Salaf as Salih (the three noble generations). Sheikh Abdulrahman mentions how taking the Quran and Sunnah according to your own interpretation will lead to deviation. Rather what one has to do is leave their own interperetation and say what did the three golden generations say about this Ayah or this Hadith. Who has a greater understanding of the verses of the Quran? Omar ibn al-Khattab, Abu Bakr, Abdullah Ibn Abbas, Abdullah ibn Omar (Radi Allahu Anhum) or us, 1400 years later? It is clear that the correct understanding comes from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, the Tab’een, and the Atba Tab’een. These are the three best generations according to the prophet Mohammed ﷺ.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The best people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then, there will come people after them whose testimony precedes their oaths and their oaths precede their testimony.”
